Ken Kossoff has been an attorney since 1984, and in practice in Westlake Village since 1998. He is an Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Law Specialist Certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Ken also has been chosen by Los Angeles Magazine as a “Super Lawyer” in estate planning for over ten years, a designation received by only five percent of attorneys in the Los Angeles area. Ken has decades of experience in helping people navigate highly sensitive transitions, providing strategies for asset protection, high-net-worth planning and negotiating the complexities of probate and trust litigation when disputes arise.
Throughout his career, Ken has been a frequent speaker and thought leader on estate planning. His decades-long experience in trust and probate litigation prompted him to focus on the human side of estate planning—the impact that estate plans may have on the family, and ways to seek to reduce the likelihood that the family will end up fighting in probate court. He also has a long history of involvement in end-of-life issues; though many people prefer to avoid discussing those issues, Ken encourages clients to do so given the difficulties that the incapacity of a loved one has on families. Ken has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, interviewed by Fox Business News regarding planning for pets, regularly teaches continuing education for Certified Public Accountants and attorneys, and has had numerous articles published in legal periodicals. Ken is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the Duke University School of Law.
